Oakland University’s campus radio station 88.3 FM WXOU has been recognized by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters for outstanding achievements in the field.
WXOU’s Matt Pocket won second place in Sportscast/Sports Play-by-Play while Erik Anderson claimed second place in Station Activities Report, which includes a short essay and audio tape chronicling a station’s activities in the community during the year.
Additionally, Steve Wiseman earned an Honorable Mention in the Air Check category, which features a brief portfolio of a radio personality’s best audio clips. And the trio of Anderson, Wiseman and Katie Hepfinger captured first place in the Daily Newscast/News Feature competition.
Awards will be presented at the 2010 Great Lakes Broadcasting Conference and Expo on Wednesday, March 3.
