Campus community reminded to never share e-mail account passwords
Members of the Oakland University community who received an e-mail message on Saturday, Dec. 12, with the subject line “Dear Oakland Web Mail User” should be advised that this message was not issued by University Technology Services and is likely a fraudulent phishing attempt.
Oakland University will never distribute e-mail requesting account passwords or a person’s date of birth. Any message requesting this information should be deleted.
Members of the campus community who responded to this or any message requesting account information should change their account passwords as quickly as possible. For further assistance with e-mail accounts, call the Help Desk at (248) 370-HELP or (248) 370-4357.
