Alumna gives back through award for counseling students

Donna Weinstein recently earned her Ph.D. in Counseling at Oakland University. During her program, Weinstein paid for assessment tools and software out-of-pocket in order to complete her dissertation. She wished there had been support available for these expenses, and wanted to make that difference for future students. In the spirit of giving to others, a lesson taught by her parents, Weinstein created an award to support doctoral students in the Counseling program in the School of Education and Human Services (SEHS).

The Kern Weinstein Award in Counseling is available for students who are collecting data for their dissertations. The award provides $1,000 for students this academic year. For more information on the Kern Weinstein Award in Counseling, visit the SEHS scholarship Website at oakland.edu/sehs/scholarship.
