Michigan Lean Consortium Event at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland
The Michigan Lean Consortium (MLC), along with the Oakland University Pawley Lean Institute, will host its next Lean thinking event Friday, Dec. 4 from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital, located at 44405 Woodward Ave. in Pontiac. Lean thinking focuses on developing excellence by identifying what is of highest value to stakeholders and customers, and then allocating resources to achieve these goals while eliminating waste.
St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital will present Lean in health care and have a tour of key areas where Lean has been implemented. Breakfast will be served. The event is free and open to everyone. MLC officer elections will follow at The Iroquois Club in Bloomfield Hills until 2 p.m. The lunch buffet is $27 per person.

The mission of the Michigan Lean Consortium is to offer a diverse network of knowledgeable Lean professionals who come together to share innovative practices. The organization aims to create a Lean culture in Michigan to ensure sustainable competitive advantage, which could translate into healthier businesses that offer more job opportunities leading to economic growth in the state.
The charter members of the MLC include: Amway, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, DTE Energy, Johnson & Johnson, The Lean Learning Center, Northwestern Michigan College, the Oakland University Pawley Lean Institute and the Michigan Shingo Prize through The Right Place.
