OU's Veterans Day Celebration a tribute to students in the military
As a tribute to the veterans of the American armed forces, Oakland University will be hosting a Veteran's Day celebration at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the Oakland Center Gold Room A. The event will feature free food, a chance to meet and network with fellow veterans and the opportunity to mingle with representatives from the Pontiac Veteran Center.
There will also be representatives of the newly founded student organization, Student Veterans of Oakland University. Veterans Support Services is looking for photographs of OU veterans to display in the Oakland Center. Anyone who would like to contribute can bring a photograph of their time in the military time or on drill to add to the project.
Speakers for the event will be Jason Hale, OU student and veteran; Ken Terbrack, Pontiac Veteran Center; Marc Hobart, president of Student Vets of OU; and Michael Brennan, veteran liason of OU. OU's Greek Council will also participate.
