Detroit Science Center offers discounted student rate to view "Accidental Mummies"

The Detroit Science Center is offering a special discount to college students and professors to view the new "Accidental Mummies" collection.

The exhibit features 36 "accidental mummies" from Guanajuato, Mexico, and combines the disciplines of science, history, forensics and cultural anthropology. Only one in 100 bodies buried in Guanajuato experiences the rare and mysterious process of natural mummification. Unlike bodies that were “artificially” mummified through an embalming and wrapping process, accidental mummies form only in certain climates and conditions.

The Detroit Science Center is offering a walk-in rate of $19.95 for students with a college id. Professors that are interested in a group visit of 10 people or more they may receive a group rate of $14.95 per student. The regular price for the exhibition is $24.95 per person.

For more information or to set up a group tour, contact Cathy Ross at cross@sciencedetroit.org or visit www.accidentalmummies.com.
