Array of events to mark OU School of Business Administration’s 40th anniversary

Rochester, Mich. – The Oakland University School of Business Administration has planned an array of thought-provoking and engaging events to celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The series of events is designed to recognize the work of expert faculty members, the success of SBA graduates and the tremendous growth of the school’s reputation in business and research communities.

A highlight event for the anniversary celebration will be the “International Business Conference: The Future of Business Leadership.” Set from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, this event will address the importance of interplay between business schools, businesses and the international marketplace. Topics to be discussed include:

• Ethics and Social Responsibility
• Leading in a Global Environment
• Health Care Reform: Issues, Challenges and Opportunities
• How IT Will Shape the Future of Health Care Delivery
• Meeting the Demands of the 21st Century Workplace: Exploring New Approaches to Leadership and Career Development for Undergraduate Students
• Deepening Student Engagement through Experiential Learning, Virtual Technology and Service Learning

A strolling, international-themed evening reception and student poster presentation will follow the conference from 4:30-6 p.m.

Current and former SBA faculty members, alumni, students and friends of the SBA also are invited to take part in the 40th Anniversary Celebration Dinner. Participants can reconnect, reminisce and renew friendships, as well as help celebrate the school’s many successes. The event is set for 7-10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, in the Oakland Center Banquet Rooms.

Registration for the conference is $50. The cost for the dinner is $65, though those interested in attending both can do so for a combined price of $110. A portion of dinner proceeds will benefit SBA Student Scholarships. For more information, e-mail to cmking@oakland.edu or call (248) 370-3286. To register, visit oakland.edu/sba40th.
