Students should ignore e-mail message titled "Fall semester"

Oakland University students should ignore an e-mail message they may have received Thursday evening via their university accounts stating that the fall semester has been canceled.

This false e-mail was maliciously created to appear as if it had been distributed by university faculty and staff, but was not and has no basis in fact.
