New road report Web site details construction zones on commutes

Oakland University is now offering its students, staff and faculty a convenient summary of area road construction projects that may interfere with commutes to and from campus.

The Road Construction Report includes descriptions of lane closures, detour routes and other information made available by the Michigan Department of Transportation.

Reports will include work on I-75, M-59, Rochester Road, Telegraph Road, the US-24 Business Route and local roads in the vicinity of campus. The site also includes a link to the MDOT lane closure site, where visitors can find information about projects outside the campus area.

Armed with this information, it is hoped that visitors to the Road Construction Report site will be able to better plan their drives to campus. Project reports will be updated on a weekly basis.

The Road Construction Report can be found on the News @ OU Web site in the Campus Resources dropdown menu or by logging into www.oakland.edu/roads.
