OU offers national certification program for career service professionals

Rochester, Mich. – Oakland University’s School of Education and Human Services (SEHS) is accepting registration through Thursday, Sept. 3, for Career Development Facilitator Training (CDF), a professional certification program for career service providers. Training is scheduled in Clinton Township, Birmingham and via eLearning. The first course begins on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

CDF training is endorsed by the National Career Development Association (NCDA), the National Employment Counseling Association (NECA) and the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP). Instructors are experienced practitioners certified by NCDA.

The 120-hour program is designed for individuals who work in the career development field including employment and displaced-worker services, human resource departments, vocational rehabilitation centers, schools and college career centers. Employability skills; career and labor market information; career planning, case management and referral skills, diversity and special populations; career center management and promotion; and ethical and scope-of-practice issues will be covered.

The CDF certificate program fee is $995. Participants may elect to take the course for OU undergraduate or graduate credit for an additional fee.
