Community Foundation offers matching gifts to MBH contributions

Starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18, the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan will provide arts and cultural organizations such as Meadow Brook Hall a total of up to $1 million in grants to match gifts made online at www.cfsem.org.

The Community Foundation Challenge – Arts & Culture will provide a match of $1 for every $2 contributed toward the preservation of Meadow Brook Hall, for example. Hence, a donor wishing to give $50 will actually generate $75 in support.

Matching funds will be awarded on a “first gift, first match” basis, so Hall supporters are encouraged to mark their calendars and log onto the Community Foundation Web site to make a contribution as soon as it is available. The matching grant program will end as soon as the $1 million of available funding is gone.

Gifts must be made online by credit card or e-check and can range from $25 to $10,000 per contributor, per organization. Only completed gifts will be matched – no pledges.

For more information, visit www.cfsem.org or contact Shannon O’Berski at stobersk@oakland.edu or (248) 364-6263.
