Macomb-OU Incubator receives more than $45,000 in private support

Sterling Heights, Mich. – The Macomb-Oakland University INCubator is excited to announce the commitment of more than $45,000 in private support from tri-county businesses to help fund business development and entrepreneurial activities within the business incubator.

“Private support is instrumental in the successful development of any non-profit venture because it enables an organization to meet client needs that would otherwise be unattainable,” said Dr. David Spencer, executive director of OU INC. “Businesses supporting business. We are incredibly lucky to have found corporate partners that see the benefit a business incubator, that mentors and grows start-up companies, can bring to an area that has been ravaged by an economic downturn.”

Current corporate partners to the Macomb-OU INCubator include:

Started in October 2008, the Macomb-OU INCubator is a business support program that accelerates the successful development of start-up companies by providing entrepreneurs with an array of targeted business resources and services. It is a joint venture between the City of Sterling Heights, Macomb County and Oakland University. The INCubator concentrates on nurturing companies focused on defense and homeland security, advanced manufacturing and alternative energy industries.
