This year’s OUAA Event Season promises to bring even more fun and exciting opportunities to you and your friends and family. Building on the success of last year’s season the array of activities offered will peak your interests for sports, career development and social and cultural outings with fellow alumni and friends.
Bring a friend and kick off the season with our annual OU Day at Comerica Park on Sunday, August 9. Join in at the Fox Theater for a pre-game reception, then head across the street to Comerica Park to cheer on the Detroit Tigers as they take on the Minnesota Twins.
Our fall lineup includes, “Enhancing Your Career: An inside view on employment trends,” on October 27 featuring alumna Denise Savage, vice president for People and Organization at Dassault Systemes Delmia Corp. Savage will discuss employment trends from an HR perspective and provide tips on marketing yourself and getting noticed. The annual Alumni Awards Banquet is November 7, an opportunity to recognize outstanding OU alumni and their contributions to the university and community.
After a sold-out event in 2009, the Sweethearts Dinner is back by popular demand. Celebrate Valentine’s Day early on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Royal Park Hotel. This time of year is also a great time to catch Grizzlies basketball in the Gold Zone, a section reserved exclusively for OUAA members.
Kickoff to spring will be marked with a day of exploration and family fun at the Detroit Science Center on April 17. And, our featured summer event, OU Day at the Zoo, is scheduled for June 12. Bring your family to monkey around and discover what’s new at the Detroit Zoo.
