Rochester Regional Chamber Welcomes Back OU Students

The Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce (RRCC) is helping new and returning residential students feel a part of the greater Rochester area.

The RRCC has partnered with Oakland University to be onsite at residence halls during freshmen check-in to hand out OU Welcome Week Coupon Books full of discounts and offers from Chamber members. The Chamber staff and its ambassadors will greet new and returning students and families, answering questions about the community. The ambassadors, a vital group of volunteers who play the role of extended staff for the Chamber, will be handing out goody bags.

During OU Welcome Week information about the Chamber, its member businesses, participating nonprofit organizations and its many services will be available to students, including information on a special Chamber membership rate for OU students and alumni. The RRCC is an important connection for students to the local business community and is a resource for student internships.

Oakland County’s largest chamber, the RRCC was named the 2008 Outstanding Chamber of the Year in Michigan. With more than 1,400 members the Chamber provides leadership and resources in order to advance business development in partnership with civic, cultural and educational interests for the benefit of its members and the community. In 2009 the City of Rochester was ranked by Money magazine as the 52nd best small town to live in.

The Chamber is located in downtown Rochester, 71 Walnut, Suite 110. They can be reached at (248) 651-6700. Or, visit the RRCC website for more information.
