YouTube contest submission deadline set for June 30

Students have the chance to win prizes by exercising creativity and putting their video and editing skills on display in the Oakland University-sponsored YouTube Contest.

The best video from each category will be featured on Oakland’s Web site. One grand prize winner will receive a $500 Barnes and Noble gift card, and the runners up in each category will win a Samsung Mini DV Camcorder with LCD Monitor.

The three categories require contestants to outline why they love OU, creative ways they are paying for college or the advantages of OU’s resources. Videos should be 30 seconds to two minutes in length and will all be featured on Oakland’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/oaklanduniv.

Videos must be uploaded to YouTube for consideration by Tuesday, June 30, and should be tagged as “I can afford Oakland University,” “Why I chose Oakland University” or “Oakland University is affordable.” Participants should link their videos through YouTube by clicking "share options" and address their message to oaklanduniv. Additionally, messages with video links can be sent through Twitter @oaklandu.
