Frank Giblin Edits a Special Issue of Experimental Eye Research

CBR member Frank Giblin, director of the Eye Research Institute, is the editor of a special issue of the journal Experimental Eye Research dedicated to physiologist George Duncan. In his introductory editorial (Volume 88, Page 114, 2009), Giblin writes
"In 2007, the lens community lost one of its most respected and admired colleagues with the untimely death of George Duncan. George conducted pioneering studies on the lens for nearly 40 years, and the pace of his experimental findings continued to accelerate literally until the day that he so unexpectedly passed away."
Ken Hightower, dean of the School of Health Sciences and coauthor with Duncan on many papers, contributed a paper titled Personal Remembrances of George Duncan by Ken Hightower and Others to the special issue (Volume 88, Pages 118-127). In the same issue, Giblin coauthored Enzyme-induced posterior vitreous detachment in the rat produces increased lens nuclear pO(2) levels (Volume 88, Pages 286-292 ) and John Reddan, of the Department of Biological Sciences, contributed to Temporal Changes in MMP mRNA Expression in the Lens Epithelium During Anterior Subcapsular Cataract Formation (Volume 88, Pages 323-330 ).
