Congratulations to SBA’s SIFE team: Regional Champions in Chicago

The Oakland University chapter of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) competed in one of the regional competitions being hosted across the United States this spring. In all, 500 student teams from universities around the country were involved; our team was one of 43 teams competing in the Chicago region on April 2, 2009. OU was named a Regional Champion in Chicago, qualifying them to compete at the SIFE National Exposition to be held in Philadelphia May 10 – May 12. Competition will be tough as our team moves to compete against approximately 125 teams in Philadelphia for the right to represent the U.S. at the SIFE World Cup to be held in Berlin, Germany in October. Additionally, at the Chicago Regional Competition, OU SIFE was named one of the top 20 national finalists out of 500 teams in three Individual Topic Competitions (Market Economics, Success Skills and Entrepreneurship). This year’s OU SIFE team included: Alicia Cavazos,Brennon Edwards(chapter president),Josh Fite,Brandon Gustafson,Stephanie Lewis,Danny Pestenariu,Jarret Schlaff,Ashley Stokes,Saman Waquad. The team was supported by Faculty Advisors: Wayne Blizman and Lisa Campbell
