Emergency training exercise planned on campus

The Oakland University Police Department will conduct a simulated Emergency Operations Training Exercise on Friday, March 20, in the Hannah Hall of Science. The entire second floor of Hannah Hall will be closed off to the general campus population from 8-11 a.m.

Only faculty, staff and students already identified as voluntary participants in the exercise, as well as police officers and authorized observers, will be allowed access to the restricted area.

Other faculty, staff, students and visitors may see multiple emergency vehicles and police officers working in and around Hannah Hall, but Police Chief Samuel Lucido advises that they should not be alarmed. He explained that the training operation is part of a coordinated effort that will help the university better prepare for an actual emergency.

ALL MEMBERS OF THE CAMPUS COMMUNITY ARE ADVISED THAT THIS IS A SIMULATION EXERCISE ONLY.
