Oakland University students can get ahead in their studies by taking advantage of the new summer semester at OU. Additionally, students home for the summer from other universities may be able to transfer credits they earn at OU back to their own institutions.
The summer semester offers greater flexibility in scheduling and increased opportunities to complete required courses. As an added convenience, students interested in locking in their schedules and planning ahead can now register for both summer and fall 2009 courses at the same time.
The registration period, prioritized by class standing, begins on Monday, March 16, for graduate students, seniors and second degree students. Juniors follow on Tuesday, March 17; sophomores on Wednesday, March 18; freshmen on Thursday, March 19; and special graduate, non-matriculated, post-bachelor and guest students on Friday, March 20. Registration is open until Sunday, May 3.
Summer classes begin at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, May 4. While most courses fall into eight-week sessions, a limited number of two-, four-, 10- and 16-week sessions also are available.
Students can register online by going to the OU home page and clicking on SAIL in the top right corner. Students who wish to register on site also may do so at 100 O’Dowd Hall during office hours, which are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
