Get involved in CIBRE

There are many ways businesses, business professionals and other individuals can get involved in the Center for Integrated Business Research and Education at Oakland University’s School of Business Administration. Whether you are seeking assistance, providing support or advancing educational initiatives there is an opportunity at SBA’s CIBRE.

The following offers just a few examples:

Education

• Gain assistance from graduate or undergraduate students through ATiB (undergraduate) or ELI (graduate) by sponsoring projects for your business. For ATiB contact Program Director Mohammad Dadashzadeh at dadashza@oakland.edu. For ELI contact Faculty Director of Graduate Programs Balaji Rajagopalan at rajagopa@oakland.edu or (248) 370-4958.

• Volunteer or provide volunteers from your organization to mentor SBA undergraduate students in various career/professional enhancement activities through ACHIEVE – from participating in networking sessions to mentoring to speaking in classes or providing projects. Contact Laurie Shano, SBA academic adviser and staff liaison for the ACHIEVE program at ltshano@oakland.edu or call (248) 370-3285.

•  Support the education of future business professionals by offering hands-on experience through internships. Contact Donna Kellstrom at kellstro@oakland.edu or (248) 370-3160 or Brenda Paine, OU Career Services, at paine@oakland.edu or (248) 370-2868.

Professional and Community Education

• Take advantage of CIBRE’s professional development courses to enhance your career stability.

• Work with CIBRE’s professional development staff to create customized programs that can assist your staff with developing additional skill and earning necessary certifications to improve service to your customers.

• Get involved in CIBRE conferences by participating in program development, speaking in panel discussions or simply attending conferences to advance your skills and networking opportunities.

• When invited, participate in Business Future Council discussions on industry-specific topics to shape the educational and research agenda within CIBRE for the SBA.

For more information on outreach activities, contact Lori Crose at llcrose@oakland.edu or call (248) 370-3128.

Research

• Consult with academic experts in various areas to gain insight into contemporary issues facing your industry.

• Work with faculty experts to design and implement research projects that will advance business education while providing you with actionable data to drive your business forward.

To learn more about research opportunities, contact SBA Dean Mohan Tanniru at tanniru@oakland.edu to discuss these and other opportunities.
