Allesee Endowed Chair Ann Whall Publishes Study on Nursing Home Residents With Dementia

Nursing home residents with dementia often engage in aggressive behavior, which is one of the most challenging aspects of caring for the elderly. In the December, 2008 issue of The Gerontologist, Ann Whall and her international team examined Factors Associated With Aggressive Behavior Among Nursing Home Residents With Dementia (Volume 48, Pages 721-731). Whall is the Allesee Endowed Chair in Gerontological Nursing at the Oakland University School of Nursing. The Allesee Endowed Chair was established in 2005 with a generous gift from loyal Oakland University supporter Maggie Allesee.
