OUAA Family Festival joins February Homecoming Festivities
This year’s Family Festival is part of OU’s First Homecoming Feb. 6 and 7.
Homecoming is almost here! Join students, alumni, fans and friends at OU’s first winter homecoming celebration, Come Home to OU, this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6 and 7.
Featuring special attractions and entertainment that will appeal to young and old alike, this winter homecoming weekend will be a hit with the entire family. Begin your day at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the OUAA Family Festival located inside the Campus Recreation Center in the three-court gyms on the lower level. Test your “rock star” skills on the interactive Rock Band and Guitar Hero video games, defy gravity in the inflatable Bouncehouse, race about the obstacle course or challenge your family to nine holes of putt-putt golf. Admission is free and open to all. Volunteer opportunities are also available during Family Festival. Call the OUAA event hotline at (248) 364-6140 for more information.
Tailgating will begin at 1 p.m. in heated tents outside the Recreation Center featuring a variety of free tailgating treats. From there, cheer on the Golden Grizzlies basketball teams at 3:30 p.m. (women) and again at 6 p.m. (men) as they face conference opponent Centenary College. The first 200 fans at the women’s game will receive free admission to both games. For more information on ticket prices, visit OU Athletics at www.ougrizzlies.com.
For more information or to volunteer, call the OUAA event hotline at (248) 364-6140. Visit the 2009 OU Homecoming Website at www.oakland.edu/comehome for a complete list of homecoming activities on Friday and Saturday.
