2009-2010 Financial Aid - Apply Now!

Oakland University makes a world-class education available at a truly affordable price.   An OU education is one of the best and most affordable investments you can make in your future.  College graduates earn an average annual salary that is more than $30,000 per year greater than the earnings of high school graduates, a trend that brings in an additional $1 million over the course of a lifetime. These numbers are even higher for masters and doctoral degree holders.

Approximately 60% of OU students receive financial aid to assist with the cost of their education.  Now is the time to apply for financial aid for the upcoming school year.  It is important to complete the 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the school year that begins with fall 2009 and runs through summer 2010.  To maximize your financial aid award package, we recommend completing the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov as soon as possible.  Applying early insures the fullest consideration for financial aid as well as your financial planning.

The OU Financial Aid Office will begin to send financial aid award notifications in March.  You should check your OU email and your SAIL account regularly.  If the Financial Aid Office requests additional information or documents respond promptly to insure timely processing of awards.  To view information related to financial aid procedures and availability, please visit OU’s financial aid website at www.oakland.edu/financialaid.

If you have questions, please contact the Financial Aid Office at 120 North Foundation Hall, (248) 370-2550, or finaid@oakland.edu.
