Grizzlies fans offered great holiday deals

Area residents looking to add a bit of adrenaline to their holiday season are invited to take advantage of great incentives to see the Golden Grizzlies in action. NCAA Basketball fans showing proof of Rochester or Oakland County residence at various action-packed games can enjoy a family-fun atmosphere for little or no cost.

Included in the holiday series are the following games: 
    • Sunday, Dec. 14 – OU men's basketball vs. Rochester College. General admission is $2 and reserved tickets are just $5 for fans from Rochester. 
    • Sunday, Dec. 28 – OU women's basketball vs. Marquette. General admission is $2 and reserved seats are just $4 for Oakland County residents 
    • Tuesday, Dec. 30 – OU women's basketball vs. Rochester College. Free entry will be granted to the first 1,000 fans. 
    • Wednesday, Dec. 31 – OU men's basketball vs. SDSU. Fans can buy one ticket and get one ticket free. 
    • Friday, Jan. 2 – OU men's basketball vs. NDSU. Fans can buy one ticket and get one ticket free. 
    • Saturday, Jan. 3 – OU women's basketball vs. NDSU. Fans can buy one ticket and get one ticket free. 
    • Monday, Jan. 5 – OU women's basketball vs. SDSU. Free entry will be granted to the first 1,000 fans.

In addition to these game promotions, Golden Grizzlies fans can sign up for special deals throughout the athletic season.

The 2008-09 Family Plan Ticket Package provides parents and their children under 18 years of age with five tickets to five men's and women's home games at the O'Rena. The cost is just $75, and purchasers receive $25 in Cub Cash, which is good for snacks at the O'Rena concession stand. Valid game dates include Jan. 2, 5 and 24, and Feb. 7, 14 and 28.

School and youth group programs involving children in the eighth grade and lower are invited to participate in 2008-09 Friends and Family Night at the O'Rena. On a game night of their choice, groups can receive special discounts on tickets and food vouchers, as well as exciting opportunities such as scoreboard recognition, meet and greets with our student-athletes, in-game promotions, the national anthem and post-game shoot around.

Tickets are still on sale for the OU men's basketball Pack the Palace events. OU will host Michigan at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, and Michigan State at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27, at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Tickets for both games are included in the OU season ticket package, and single-game tickets, including tickets to a reception hosted by the OU Alumni Association, are available.

Ticket prices for the first 400 students are $10 per game or $10 for both games for students who attend the Oakland vs. U-M game. This price includes a pre-game tailgate at the O’Rena, shuttle bus transportation to The Palace and floor seating in the OU student section.

Students should bring their tailgate voucher to the O’Rena on each game day to get game tickets. The tailgate on Dec. 20 begins at 1 p.m. and shuttle service to The Palace begins at 2:15 p.m. The tailgate on Dec. 27 begins at 2:30 p.m. and shuttle service to The Palace begins at 3:30 p.m.
