Extraordinary women sought as nominees for annual award
The Oakland University chapter of the American Council on Education Network is currently accepting nominations for the Phyllis Law Googasian Award, which recognizes women for extraordinary service and commitment to the positive growth, development and advancement of women at Oakland University and beyond.
All OU employees are welcome to nominate a faculty member, special lecturer, special instructor, administrator, administrative professional or other staff member who has demonstrated distinguished leadership, scholarship, advocacy, mentoring, program development or similar activity.
The award was first presented in 1992 to honor Phyllis Law Googasian, a trustee emerita who, herself, demonstrated exceptional commitment to women and the university.
Nominations forms should be returned by Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, to Tamara Machmut-Jhashi in the Office of Academic Affairs, Wilson Hall Room 205. Completed forms can also be e-mailed to machmutj@oakland.edu.
Nominations are now being accepted for the Phyllis Law Googasian Award, which recognizes women for their commitment to the positive growth, development and advancement of women.
