Editorial Commentary Published in the Journal Heart Rhythm

Scientific journals sometimes publish editorial commentaries about important articles. In the November 2008 issue of Heart Rhythm Professor Brad Roth, of the Department of Physics, published an editorial titled "Long Versus Short Duration Fibrillation: What's the Difference?" (volume 5, pages 1607-1608). This commentary discussed a paper by Allred et al. (volume 5, pages 1599-1606) that analyzed electrical defibrillation of the heart. In particular, the study examined the difference between immediate defibrillation and defibrillation delayed by a few minutes, so that the heart becomes ischemic. Roth is a member of the editorial board of Heart Rhythm.
