SBA to host leadership conference

The Oakland University School of Business Administration will host a leadership conference to explore the role of leadership in developing competitive advantages in the global marketplace. The two-day event will be held Thursday, Oct. 9, and Friday, Oct. 10, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. each day, in the Pioneer Room of the OU Recreation and Athletics Center (RAC) and 242 Elliott Hall.

The conference, titled “Leadership during Organizational Transformation,” brings together academics from across the country and business professionals from diverse institutions to explore strategies for meeting today’s business challenges and discover innovative approaches to business research and education. The conference will consider several core themes, including health care, information technology and lean thinking, an emerging business philosophy focused on improving efficiency by eliminating waste.

The cost is $75 per day with breakfast and lunch included, and $50 for dinner at Meadow Brook Hall on Thursday, Oct. 9, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. To register, visit www.sba.oakland.edu/ce/career_dev.asp and click “Leadership during Organizational Transformation.” For more information, contact the Center for Executive and Continuing Education (248) 370-3128 or sba-ce@lists.oakland.edu.
