“The residents of Rochester look forward to Dancin’ in the Street each year and we are proud to showcase the talented Oakland University students during this wonderful community event,” said Kristi Trevarrow, executive director, Rochester Downtown Development Authority.
The event, which features music, dancing and food, is held on W. Fourth Street, between Main and Walnut, on Friday, August 8 from 6– 10 p.m. and Saturday, August 9, from noon – 10 p.m. Parking is available throughout the downtown area.
Images Dance Team performs at all OU men’s and women’s home basketball games, and performs at select soccer, volleyball and hockey games. Over the past seven years the team has consistently ranked in the top ten at the UDA College National Dance Championships. This is the team’s fourth appearance at Dancin’ in the Street.
Xpressiv B.T.Z is a student entertainment group established in 2007 at Oakland University. The group performs a combination of stomp, hip-hop and step routines.
Oakland University’s hometown, Rochester and OU partner on a variety of reciprocal business and academic ventures as part of a formal partnership signed in 2003.
