Three-wheeled vehicles are coming to Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegance. Sidecar motorcycles will make their debut appearance when the world-famous event with its stellar lineup comes to Meadow Brook Hall on Aug. 3.
Spanning the early 1900s to the late 1960s, the Concours will feature legendary examples of the motorcycle world’s best. Plans for the 2008 exhibit include a 1913 Triumph Type C with a wicker sidecar, a 1937 Brough Superior and a 1948 Indian Chief. And, along with a fabulous grouping of exotic supercars in front of the historic Meadow Brook Hall, organizers expect some of the most spectacular superbikes in current production, represented by names such as BMW, Ducati and MV Agusta.
“If last year’s inaugural motorcycle exhibition is any indication, this year will be a runaway success,” says event chairman Larry Smith.
In addition to superb motorcycles, 2008 Concours will also include the 100th anniversaries of General Motors and the Ford Model T; significant Ferraris; 8-litre Bentleys; 16-cylinder cars and cars from 1933. Visitors to the 30th annual event will also enjoy a collection of social events and the debut of the Concours unique lifestyle experience, Destination d’Elegance on August 2.
General admission tickets for Concours Sunday are $25. College students are admitted for free with school photo ID.
