SBA Instructor joins in GM's 100th Anniversary in Flint on July 21, 2008
Larry P. Schramm, Special Lecturer with the School of Business Administration at Oakland University, joined the anniversary celebration by driving one of the 250 cars that made up the parade through downtown Flint. What a trip down memory lane! Larry is driving a 1915 Buick Express Delivery Truck, Model C-4. There were about 745 made for export in 1915 with most of those going to Europe for ambulances in WWI. There were about 645 made for domestic use. According to Larry, "This is one of only 5 that are left. I have had the truck for about 5 years. It is a 4 cylinder truck that has a 37 HP engine. The truck will run about 35 MPH top speed. According to the sales literature, it will carry 1500 lbs (/34 ton) or more on smooth roads."
Mr. Schramm spent over 35 years with General Motors. During his time with GM, he served in a variety of roles including product manufacturing, The GM Financial Staff, Global HR, and over a decade in Sales, Service, & Marketing with the Buick Motor Division. He has had extensive customer service experience, given his work with dealers, customers, suppliers and governmental agencies to promote customer satisfaction in the resolution of customer concerns and issues. His current position is in Product Engineering where he is the Lead Engineer, Hybrid High Voltage Cables for all GM Hybrid vehicles world wide. This includes the Chevy Volt. He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers. Mr. Schramm completed his Masters degree from Central Michigan University in Business with his thesis on company behaviors that influence and increase customer satisfaction. His undergraduate degree was completed at The University of Michigan–Flint in Applied Mathematics and Business
