Imagine standing on the mound in the middle of Comerica Park surrounded by thousands of fans as the ball whirls over home plate. That dream will become reality for one Oakland University Alumni Association members with a lot of Golden Grizzlies and Detroit Tiger pride. By participating in the First Pitch Photo Contest, OUAA members have the opportunity to win two tickets to OU Night at Comerica Park on Aug. 27 and the opportunity to throw out the first pitch.
Photo contest participants should submit a photo demonstrating their love of the OU Golden Grizzlies and the Detroit Tigers. Entries much be postmarked, or received by e-mail by July 21. Entries should be sent to ouaa@oakland.edu, with “Photo Contest” in the subject line, or mailed to OU Alumni Association Photo Contest, John Dodge House, 2200 N. Squirrel Rd., Rochester, MI 48309.
Participants must be members of the OU Alumni Association and 16 years old to enter. Limit one entry per OUAA member.
OU Night at Comerica Park is open to all OU alumni and friends. The evening begins with a pre-game reception at the Fox Theatre at 4:30 p.m. The event features tailgate treats, Coney dogs, chips and beverages. Then, the OU group will head to Comerica Park as the Detroit Tigers take on the Cleveland Indians. Seats are located in the upper deck, sections 329-332.
Only 1,000 tickets are available. Purchase one of the first 500 tickets and receive a free OUAA T-shirt. Pending availability, ticket order deadline is July 21. Tickets are $27 for OUAA members and $37 for non-members. There is a limit of four tickets per order. Tick price includes game ticket and admission and food at the pre-game reception at the Fox Theatre.
