PAWLEY LEAN INSTITUTE
LEAN THINKING FOR SCHOOLS™

LeanSchools™ Weblog July 2008

Welcome to the LeanSchools™ eNews from the Oakland University Lean Pawley Institute. This is a monthly communiqué of the best in thinking for Lean schools. We invite you to read the information and realize that great strides can be made in the journey when you connect with others.

The greatest journey begins with a single step.

- Chinese proverb

Since you are reading this, you have already taken more than that first step toward becoming Lean, and you may be wondering where your second and third steps will be leading. This month presents a flowchart sequencing the support you will receive in your Lean journey as a Pawley Partner. The Learning Mileposts document will help you to understand where you are and where you are headed, inspired by Lean Thinking for Schools.

Next month, we will share success stories of organizations in the midst of their own Lean journeys. To help you prepare for these, click on the link to the Michigan Education Report about the fiscal pressures facing school districts and the remedy Lean Thinking promises.

Feel free to forward this information by e-mail to a friend as the LeanSchools community is a growing network of improvement champions

All the best,
