Students can find resources during Career Expedition

By Laura Angus, media relations assistant

OU students will have the opportunity to learn more about their future paths and opportunities during the Career Expedition, which will be held during three Tuesdays in July.

This is the first time the program has been offered in the summer, and will allow students to explore and connect with other students in small groups. They will take personality and interest assessments to help them make decisions about their major and career tracks.

“By the end of the three sessions will have a good idea of what majors would be a good fit for them,” said Shaunda Jimmerson, career and academic adviser. “They will have the means to make a well-informed decision.”

Advisers will also provide additional information to students, like job descriptions and salary estimates.

“They will come back with a lot of information,” Jimmerson said.

The Career Expedition is open to all students, even incoming freshmen and those with a declared major. It will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 15, 22 and 29. There is a $30 fee to register, but that will be refunded to students who attend all three days. For more information and to register, visit www.oakland.edu/claw.
