OU composer's work featured in Galway concert

Music composed by Terry Herald, music adjunct and technical coordinator for the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance, will be performed by a mass flute choir at the University Musical Society's May 10 tribute to flutist Sir James Galway, recipient of the 2008 UMS Distinguished Artist Award.

Galway will perform works by Poulenc, Gaubert, Bazzini, Doppler and Chaminade. Herald's
commissioned piece, "Fantasie on Danny Boy," will be performed by two groups of soloists and six antiphonal flute choirs, more than 200 flutists in all, posted at various locations in Hill Auditorium in downtown Ann Arbor.
