Ravindra Khattree is an expert in statistics and applied mathematics. He has published more than 75 refereed articles, two comprehensive text books on SAS software and multivariate analysis, three edited volumes of statistical methodology, and many technical reports, all while working with several masters of science and Ph.D. students. He also received research support from several organizations such as the Templeton Foundation Grant for studying spirituality and quality of life among breast cancer patients at the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University. Khattree is an internationally recognized scholar and his work has been cited in more than 50 textbooks. Because of his important and outstanding contributions, he received the Young Statistician Award from the International Indian Statistical Association in 2002. In addition, his achievements in the development of statistical methods; in promoting statistics by writing for diverse audiences; in editorial work; and in innovative contributions to statistical education led to his election as a Fellow of the American Statistical Association in 2003. He was recognized at Oakland University at the 2005 OU Founder’s Day Faculty Recognition Luncheon and by the Board of Trustees, and was an elected member of the International Statistical Institute based in the Netherlands.
