Huirong Fu deserves recognition for her scholarly achievements and her leadership role in securing National Science Foundation (NSF) funding for projects involving faculty from different disciplines and schools. She published six journal articles in 2007 in highly respected venues such as "Computer Communications, Computer Networks," "International Journal of Network Security," and "IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology." Notably, most of these articles were published with students working with Fu. She published nine conference publications last year. Fu played a leading role in developing and funding of the NSF project, “CT-ER: TrusT-US: Trustworthy Transportation Ubiquitous Systems” jointly awarded to Fu, Fatma Mili and Debatosh Debnath in the Computer Science and Engineering department and Daniel Aloi of the ECE department. She also played a major leadership role in another NSF project “Information Assurance and Security Education With A Multidisciplinary Collaborative Approach in A Realistic Environment” completed jointly with Xiaodong Deng of the School of Business Administration and Patrick Corbett of Cooley Law School. In addition to these two projects, Fu is also involved with a number of other NSF projects. Through her scholarly achievements, she is setting an example for tenure-track faculty in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
