On March 19, 2008 two Alumni Admissions Ambassadors teamed up with Jennifer Rosebrock, an OU admissions adviser, at the Romeo Community Schools’ Annual College Night for a meaningful OU experience. With over 60 Midwest colleges and universities represented, Romeo College Night provided high school students and their parents with admissions materials, images, and opportunity to visit first hand with university admissions representatives.

Tom Kondrat, SECS ’98, SECS ’01 and Chris Lackowski, SEHS ’98, both Romeo high school graduates, participated in the Romeo College Night to involve themselves with their community while sharing their OU experience. “It felt good to connect with my community and this renewed my passion for Oakland. It was great to feel the excitement tonight that so many of the Romeo community and surrounding high schools invited have toward OU,” stated Lackowski, Data Analyst, for CIBER at Ford Motor Company.

Teaming their alma mater with potential future students is at the heart of AAAP. The program engages alumni and prospective students and their parents by sharing their OU experience and stirring interest from qualified students. Kondrat and Lackowski said that they felt the pride of giving back to the community where they grew up (as Romeo Bulldogs) and meaningfully reconnecting as Oakland Grizzlies graduates. “What a great program and event for OU alum to give back in multiple ways,” stated Kondrat, Senior Specialist, Data Mining for Chrysler LLC.
