The Center for Student Activities is accepting nominations for three scholarships. The Sidney Fink Memorial Award, Commuter Involvement Award and Volunteer Service Award applications are available from the CSA Web site and are due March 21.
The Sidney Fink Memorial Award is given to student employees who have demonstrated an on-going commitment to improve race relations on Oakland University’s campus. There are up to four $100-$200 awards available to undergraduate and graduate students currently employed on OU’s campus and who will be registered for the 2008-09 academic year.
Commuter students are eligible for the Commuter Involvement Award, which recognizes commuter students who have made significant contributions to improve the quality of campus life through their participation in campus activites and student organizations. There are up to 20 $500 activity-based awards available for commuter students who will be registered for the 2008-09 academic year.
Individual students or student organizations who have unselfishly contributed their time and talents to community service projects on and off campus can apply for the Volunteer Service Award. The award recognizes those who have been actively involved in community service activities on and off campus from May 1, 2007 through March 21, 2008. There are up to eight $500 awards available to returning individual students and registered student organizations for the 2008-08 academic year.
Applications for the scholarships are available from the CSA Web site. All applications are due to the CSA Office by Friday, March 21. Recipients of the scholarships will be honored at the CSA Student Activities and Leadership Awards Night on Thursday, April 10.
