Watch The News at OU for more information at that time.* The 11th Ambassador Leonard Woodcock Legacy Seminar will be held at Oakland University’s Meadow Brook Hall on Thursday, April 3. This forum, which examines Sino-American business trade and development issues from an economic, political, legal and educational viewpoint, will feature prominent speakers from various facets of the government and business sectors. The theme of the seminar is “China Today: Golden Aspirations and Beyond.”
Slated to participate in the afternoon panel presentation are Consul General Ping Huang of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China, Chicago; Robert Ficano, Wayne County’s chief executive officer; Jerome Hill, attorney and China consultant, Butzel Long; and G. Mustafa Mohatarem, chief economist, General Motors Corporation.
An optional luncheon including presentations by Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson and Ping Huang will take place at noon, with the panel discussion following from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. An hour-long reception will cap off the event.
Individuals contemplating or involved in business relationships with China will find these sessions of interest. Cost to attend the luncheon, lunch presentations, panel discussion and reception is $195; a seat at only the panel discussion and reception is $95. The cost of admission will benefit the Ambassador Leonard Woodcock Legacy Fund, which promotes the understanding of Chinese culture, politics, art and society at Oakland University.

The Ambassador Leonard Woodcock Legacy Seminar was named in honor of Leonard Woodcock, the first U.S. ambassador to China, who served from in that capacity from 1979–1981.
