“Living with Autism” workshop to feature Jenny McCarthy
Parents, educators, and the general public will have the opportunity to hear from several local experts on a wide range of topics relating to autism on April 16 at the Troy Hilton. Workshop facilitators include medical experts from Henry Ford Health System and faculty members from Oakland University School of Education (OUCARES) and the Kaufman Children's Center.
The morning begins with two breakout sessions, in which attendees have their choice of four classes. After lunch, participants will hear from Jenny McCarthy as she shares her personal struggles and triumphs raising Evan, her autistic son. The day includes continental breakfast, choice of two breakout sessions, lunch, vendor booths, Q&A with breakout session facilitators, keynote speaker Jenny McCarthy and Q&A with Jenny McCarthy.
The event is sponsored by Henry Ford Health System, Oakland University and Metro Parent Magazine. CEU credits will be available. Cost is $95.00 for general admission and $125 for general admission with CEU credits. Registration and continental breakfast will begin at 7:45 a.m. The Troy Hilton is located at 5500 Crooks Road.
