Spirit Squad to keep tournament blog

Ben Fielder and Anthony Gallina lead OU's Spirit Squad.

By Rebecca Wyatt Thomas, OU Web Writer

The OU Spirit Squad will hit the road on Friday, traveling to Tulsa, Okla., to cheer on the men’s and women’s basketball teams as they participate in the Summit League tournament and vie for a chance at the Big Dance. Check in on the Spirit Squad’s journey through their tournament blog as the seven students root for OU’s team.

Ben Fielder, a music theatre major, and Anthony Gallina, a marketing major, along with seven students will lead the cheering section in the arena far away from OU’s home gym. Fielder and Gallina led the OU Spirit Squad all season long, generating school spirit and support for Golden Grizzlies athletes.

The pair distributed game schedules in the residence halls, manned a table in the Oakland Center, sent e-mails and put up posters. At games, they served as official greeters, distributed promotional material and led cheers to get the crowd excited.

Check the OU Spirit Squad tournament blog for updates from the road.
