By Rebecca Wyatt Thomas, OU Web Writer

The Rochester Junior Woman’s Club will raise their glasses and funds for a number of different local charities, including the Meadow Brook Garden Club. Raise the Glass, a wine sampling event and silent auction, will be held Saturday, March 8 from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Proceeds from Raise the Glass will benefit Meadow Brook Garden Club, South Oakland Shelter, Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm and other local charities.

The Meadow Brook Garden Club supports the 16 gardens and 42 urns on the grounds of Meadow Brook Hall. Throughout the summer, the members meet weekly to mulch, weed, prune and groom the beds and urns.

Raise the Glass will be held at the La Sala Banquet Center, 6840 N. Rochester Road, in Rochester Hills. Tickets are $65. Tables of 12 are available.

The evening’s festivities will begin at 7 p.m. when attendees will be invited to sample more than 30 wines. A strolling buffet, silent auction, music and dancing will also be available. A cash bar will be offered after 9 p.m. Food and beverages are presented by Papa Joe’s Gourmet Market.
