OU Art Gallery hosts faculty exhibition

By Rebecca Wyatt Thomas, OU Web Writer

“Image and Text,” the biennial faculty art exhibition, will be held at the Oakland University Art Gallery Jan. 12 through Feb. 24. The faculty members explore art in their own ways through a variety of mediums, including photography, paintings and digital prints.

The exhibition features the work of many the art faculty members including Kyohei Abe, Claude Baillargeon, Martyn Bouskila, Andrea Eis, Susan Evans, Lynn Galbreath, Dick Goody, Chris McCauley, Sally Schluter Tardella and Vagner Whitehead.

Using images, text or a combination of both, the faculty portray their ideas to the audience.

“Diversity of artistic intent, content and vision is a valuable asset for a studio art faculty that can offer this broadness of vision to its students, opening their minds to possibilities and giving confirmation to the value in artistic exploration,” said Eis, chair of the Department of Art and Art History.

The Oakland University Art Gallery is located in 208 Wilson Hall, across from Meadow Brook Theatre. The gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., and during Meadow Brook Theatre evening performances. For more information, contact OUAG at (248) 370-3005 or visit the OU Art Gallery Web site.
