The Oakland University Alumni Association is proud to open up applications for the OUAA Scholarship program for the 2008-2009 academic year. If you are a graduate of Oakland University who is currently pursuing a second degree at OU, you are eligible to apply for a Returning Alumni Scholarship. Parents and grandparents who are Oakland alumni and who have a current or incoming Oakland University freshman student may also qualify for a Legacy Scholarship. Both scholarships offered are $3,000 non-renewable awards distributed for the fall 2008 and winter 2009 semesters. You must be a current member of the alumni association to qualify and students must meet the minimum GPA requirements to apply.
Applications are also available to current OU students through the OUAA for the 2008-09 academic year. These scholarships are open to any undergraduate student with junior or senior status by fall 2008. Scholarship recipients must have two or more full-time semesters remaining in their academic program and must have a 3.0 GPA in their major field of study as well as a cumulative 3.0 GPA at OU. At least one of the scholarships will be awarded to a student representing each of the schools and the College of Arts and Sciences.
Applications and more details regarding these and other scholarships offered through the OUAA will be available on the OUAA Web Site. Only completed applications received by February 18, 2008, will be considered. For more information, call the Alumni Relations office at (248) 364-6140.
